Advocating for Our Rights

RWOK is committed to advocating for the rights of LBQ women. We believe that every individual deserves equal rights, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Through our advocacy efforts, we work towards legal protection, social acceptance, empowerment & visibility, and women’s health.

Join us in our journey towards a more inclusive and equitable Kenya, where LBQ women can live with dignity, freedom, and authenticity. Together, we can create lasting impact and build a better future for all.

Legal Protection

We strive for the recognition and protection of LBQ women’s rights under the law, advocating for comprehensive anti-discrimination policies, inclusive healthcare, and legal frameworks that safeguard their well-being.

Social Acceptance

We challenge societal stereotypes, prejudices, and stigmas surrounding LBQ women, promoting acceptance, understanding, and respect. We aim to create a culture that celebrates diversity and embraces LBQ women’s contributions to society. One way we achieve this is through our annual end-of-year Dada Film Festival to change attitudes through film — by women, for women.

Empowerment & Visibility

We empower LBQ women to be visible, confident, and assertive in asserting their rights. By providing platforms for their stories, experiences, and achievements through programs such as our monthly feminism forums, we aim to inspire change and foster a more inclusive society.

Women’s Health

We support the health of women and the education of school girls by creating and providing free reusable, hand-sewn sanitary products to satisfy unmet menstrual hygiene needs in the community.
